Disputes with your landlord, rental agent, or housemates
What can I do when I have a dispute with my landlord, rental agent, or housemates?
- Try to negotiate possible solutions or agreements with the other party.
- Whenever possible, have your conversations and agreed actions via email or any form in writing.
- If an agreement or promise was made via a phone conversation, you should follow up with the other party via email to confirm the details of what you discussed or agreed on.

- If no solution can be reached, make an appointment to speak to an Accommodation Officer.

- Email/SMS conversations
- Bank statements (or proof payments)
- Any other relevant documents
- Call the Residential Tenancies Authority (RTA) and/or QSTARS to get additional advice (Contact details available from their respective websites). These services are free.
